Who we are

This website is run by Translink Solutions PLC, a telematics company headquartered at Kera, SD Building, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Translink Solutions PLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it's used and we're responsible for protecting it.

This policy covers this website and its contact form. It doesn't cover the fleet management platforms we provide to clients, which are explained in fleet platform data below.

What we collect

When you send a message through our contact form, we receive:

Your name
So we know who we're talking to.
Email address
So we can reply in writing.
Phone number
So our sales or support team can call you back.
Organization
Optional. Helps us understand your context.
Fleet size
Optional. Helps us suggest the right solution and prepare an accurate quote.
Request type
A demo, a quotation, a consultation, support, or something else, so your message reaches the right people.
Your message
Whatever you choose to tell us about your fleet or your question.

If you email or call us, we receive your email address or phone number and whatever you tell us in that conversation.

Like most websites, the server that hosts this site may automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page you requested and the time of the request. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.

Please don't send us sensitive personal information, such as health or financial details, through the contact form. We don't need it to answer your inquiry.

How we use it

We use the information you send us to:

  • reply to your message and answer your questions;
  • arrange a demo, prepare a quotation or provide the support you asked for;
  • follow up on your inquiry, if you'd like us to;
  • keep a record of our conversations with clients and prospective clients;
  • keep this website working and protect it against misuse.

We don't use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we won't add you to a marketing list without asking.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up. If your inquiry leads to a business relationship, the related correspondence becomes part of our client records and is kept for as long as that relationship, and our legal and accounting obligations, require.

If no relationship follows, we delete inquiries once we no longer need them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

Who sees it

Your information is seen only by the people who need it to help you:

  • Translink staff who handle sales, support and administration;
  • service providers who work on our behalf, such as the companies that host this website and deliver our email, who may only use it to provide that service to us;
  • public authorities, if we're required to share it by law.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it with other companies for their own marketing.

Cookies and storage

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies, and it doesn't use third-party analytics. We don't build profiles of visitors or follow you across other websites. Our fonts and scripts are served from this website rather than from third-party services.

Your browser may keep its own standard cache of pages, fonts and images so the site loads faster on your next visit. That cache stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Some pages link to other websites, such as Google Maps for directions to our office. If you follow those links, the other website's own privacy policy applies.

Fleet platform data

If your organization uses Translink's tracking and fleet management platforms, the data those systems collect, such as vehicle locations, sensor readings, driver identification and video, is handled under your organization's service agreement with us, not under this website policy.

Your organization decides who can access that data and how it's used. For questions about it, contact your organization's platform administrator or our support team at support@translink.et.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorized access, and we limit access to the people who need it. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low and to act quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your information when we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it;
  • stop contacting you.

To make a request, write to hello@translink.et. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. We'll respond as soon as we reasonably can, and we won't charge you for a reasonable request. You may also have further rights under the data protection laws that apply to you.

Children

This website is meant for businesses and organizations. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be clearly explained here.
